Intercultural Mom’s Club on-Line Session #4

The fourth session was held on March 10th.
Welcoming one new club member, five moms discussed similarities and differences of child life between Japan and the participants’ home countries.

“Everything was opposite” said a mom from the USA. “From indoor shoes to the school policy, there are series of surprise and many things I need to learn.”
The big challenge as a mom was bento making. She sent a typical American lunch box at first including sandwich, corn chips, and cookies, and the school called her and said “No snack, please!”
She also was caught by a big surprise that children in Japan do sports very seriously sticking with one sport while children in the US enjoy many sports at once.

On the other hand, a Japanese mom said learning Japan through the prospective of the people from abroad gave her a new understanding and made her think a lot.

Some of the mothers’ hands never stopped cradling her baby or holding two little children at both sides or feeding her toddler while the 45 minutes was getting filled with surprise and laughter brought by the moms’ experiences and thoughts.

The next session on March 24th will be the last session.
Eight moms from six nations are going to gather.

Three moms joined holding babies in their arms.
